About MUN:
Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nation where students take on the role of UN representatives. Members of other international bodies and national cabinets learn about the working of International politics and problem-solving by engaging in matters concerning security, economic development, etc. Delegates also learn the complexities of international negotiations and teamwork.

About SOIMUN:
Nestled in the lap of curiosity and will to learn and teach, School of India brings to you the second edition of SOIMUN, the most enriching and edifying experience possible for those intrigued with passion, willing to dive into or have already stepped in the waters of Mun-ing. The pedagogy here is action-oriented developed to meet the demands of the students and giving them the best.

Our Philosophy:
Model United Nations is a platform for development. MUN develops skills and values, skills that are needed for future success in college and careers. Looking at how important this year's elections were, we think it is important for every student to know and understand how democracy works and develop a deeper understanding of current world issues and world politics. School of India's Model United Nations is here to teach the students about the world.

In our modern time, where things are at a constant change - to sit and deliberate on our futures is a rather requisite responsibility. We, at SOIMUN '25, promise to you that this forum will be beneficial to you in delving into the current scenario of our world, both national and international.

People often think that diplomacy is only required in extreme, rare situations. However, diplomacy is a way of life. It is the propensity by which people learn to tackle their situations while staying neutral. Diplomacy is a much required skill, one that everyone in their lives should at least have an idea of.

SOIMUN stands for more than just debate. It stands for an opportunity, it stands for representation, and most of all, it stands for the future we build tomorrow!

I urge all the participants to take part in this conference with all their efforts. It doesn't matter whether you walk out of the committee with an award. What matters is that at the end of the day, you walk out after learning something.

I’m Mihir Kopalle, and I’m honoured to serve as your Deputy Secretary General for SOIMUN’25.
Over the years, MUNs have been more than just events for me, they’ve been training grounds for perspective, pressure, and purpose. I’ve witnessed how a well timed rebuttal can shift an entire room, how diplomacy thrives not in agreement but in articulation, and how behind every delegate is a story waiting to be heard.

As Deputy Secretary General, I’m here to make sure that your experience isn’t just smooth, but memorable for the right reasons, the quality of debate, the people you meet, the things you discover about yourself.

Outside of committee, you’ll usually find me on a chessboard, competing under the US Chess Federation. Chess taught me patience, precision, and that sometimes the best moves are the ones no one sees coming, much like diplomacy.
At SOIMUN’25, I hope you’ll bring not just your facts and files, but your passion, your unpredictability, and your willingness to engage because that’s what takes a conference from great to unforgettable.

I’m Udbhav, and I have the honour of serving as your Director General for SOIMUN’25. With extensive experience chairing and representing in various MUNs, I've seen it all. From the charged debates of the AIPPM to the legal maze that is the UNSC—I’ve come to value one thing above all: meaningful dialogue.

To me, MUNs are more than just policy and procedure. They’re platforms for critical thought, bold voices, and problem-solving. As the Director General, my goal is to ensure that SOIMUN’25 is not only well-run, but genuinely enriching and unforgettable.

Outside committee, I’m often experimenting in the kitchen, scripting in Python, or deconstructing foreign policy over a triple shot espresso at 12 AM. I believe that diplomacy should be driven by curiosity, passion, and the courage to challenge norms—and that’s exactly what I hope you’ll bring to this conference.

As the Chargé D’Affaires for SOIMUN 2025, it’s both an honour and a deeply personal privilege to represent a conference that has shaped so much of who I am today. SOIMUN is more than just a Model United Nations—it is a living embodiment of diplomacy, dialogue, and the spirit of constructive collaboration. Since its establishment, it has stood as a platform where young minds challenge convention, negotiate with purpose, and lead with empathy.

My association with the School of India spans a decade—ten years of growth, learning, and transformation. From walking into its corridors as a student to now being entrusted with this role, my journey with SOI and SOIMUN has been nothing short of foundational.

This year, we aim to build not just another MUN, but a space where voices matter, perspectives shift, and confidence takes root. Whether you're a seasoned delegate or stepping into diplomacy for the first time, know that SOIMUN'25 will challenge you, support you, and celebrate you and I will try my best to fulfill these in my capacity .
